I have delivered Cheer Camp registration papers to Wharton, Marclay, Bruceton & Turkeyfoot Schools. If your child did not get one please email me swaney747@verizon.net

Cheer Camp 2011

Cheer Camp will be July 11-15. Registration papers will be handed out at school next week. I will be updating our cheer blog more frequently because the league meetings have started for this year.

END OF YEAR>>

We will be having a special end of year practice on Nov. 3rd at the Hardy Girl Gym . 6-8.  PLease bring clean uniforms so I can store them for the winter.

WE ROCK!

We are the only team in the league that has flag football cheerleaders....The girls did a great job doing their half time show on the field. So sorry the announcer almost forgot to announce Dana Vansickle. The announcer was so upset for forgetting he gave her a sister....Allie was so excited to have Dana as a sister for the day...

OUR FIRST GAME

What a great day for the Steeler Cheerleaders. The 8:00 coaches meeting started the day. Off to the field just as we arrived we found out along with the rest of the parents we were parking in the wrong place..Due to constrution the only entrance open is the construction opening on the away team side of the stadium. The Flag game started at 9:30. Our cheerleaders we excited to be there. Each and every cheerleader had to check out the bathroom. (Thats exciting stuff) As the day went on the Jr Squad cheered at 11:00. The Jr. Squad did a great job. The Jr girls loved the fake grass... The Sr. squad cheered at 12:30. They really did a outstand job too. They all were very loud and proud! They were all nervous for the half time show but they did great. Each week they amaze me. CONGRATS to all of the girls!

DANCE

The Steeler Cheerleaders had a dance for the elementary kids on Friday. What a bunch of fun. The kids danced and danced and danced..Matt the Cat DJ played the coolest music and took all of the kids requests. We had about 35 kids. Coach Chris Sennet joined in on the fun. He was getting funky with it! Thank you to all of the football player who attended. WAY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!

Reminder- 1 hour practice

Practices on Wednesday night will only be 1 hour long from 6:00-7:00.  Because the girls have done so well and the school year has started we do not need 2 hours of practice. From 7:00-8:00 I will still be at the field. If your child wants help with a specific cheer or the 1/2 time show please let me know and we can work on it then.

A BIG THANK YOU!

It takes a special dad to volunteer to drive 40 youth cheerleaders in a parade. The demands are HIGH from these little ladies. Be on time, smiling, dramatic decorations, play the music loud, drive at the right speed, oh and you must be cool, look cool and attract coolness...SO with that said the Youth Steeler Cheerleaders give a BiGGGGG thumbs up to Billy Grimes. Billy Grimes is the proud parent of Valerie Grimes, a Sr. Cheelreader and Dalton Grimes, a Flag Football Player. He has been our float driver for the Farmington and Markleysburg Parade. We also have him booked for the Halloween Float in Uniontown. Can you say 40 zombie cheerleaders............oh yea!

Markleysburg Parade

Friday September 10th. We are meeting around the Union Church in Markleysburg. Please be in full uniform. The Mini's will be riding on a float the Jr. & Sr. will be walking. We will be doing cheers the entire way instead of our half time show. Please pick your children up the community fairgrounds/Fire department. Tee Shirt orders for the Steeler Football and the Steeler Cheerleaders are both due on Friday.
